Is primary sword fencing safe?

The simple answer is yes!

Long gone are the days when two duelists faced off at dawn with real swords!

Today we fencing is very much a sport and as a coach, teacher and company director I take the responsibility of safety very serious indeed with the following approach that has led to not ONE SINGLE ACCIDENT in 20 years of coaching primary fencing:

  1. CLEAR RULES FOR THE PUPILS such as only picking up a sword when fencing and not waving them around in between matches

  2. SAFE EQUIPMENT designed for primary age pupils by a professional fencing kit supplier as a 'soft' introduction to the sport

  3. EXCELLENT COACHING AND SUPERVISION that comes from my years of experience both as a coach and primary teacher

  4. FULL INSURANCE AND DBS CLEARANCE for your further reassurance

Providing primary school sword fencing days for key stage 1 and key stage 2 in the North West of England in the following areas:  Manchester, Oldham, Wigan, Trafford, Rochdale, St Helens, Warrington, Stockport, Bury, Tameside, Bolton,  Liverpool, Salford, (parts of) Cheshire, (parts of) Derbyshire and Lancashire
